I would recommend it to almost every teenager I know but I would not recommend it to any adults. This is a book that feels like it was made for teenagers. These themes are so important to discuss in teen literature so I was so happy to seem them in this book. These include choosing your own path, mental health issues among teens, discovering your identity, and much more. The themes in this book were so well-done. They both cared so much about each other in a platonic way which was so nice to read in a genre that is so often filled with romance sub-plots. I also loved the friendship dynamics between Aled and Frances. There are many characters of different races, sexualities, and backgrounds and it was great to see them all represented in this book in such an effortless way. This is how the future of literature should be. However, she soon finds out that Aled is the creator of her favourite podcast of all time, Radio Silence.įirstly, the diversity and representation in this book was fantastic. Until she meets Aled, the first person who has ever truly understood her. Frances has always dedicated her life to school, studying, and her grades. Radio Silence tells the story of Frances. It felt so authentic and relatable and that made it so unique in the YA contemporary genre. Radio Silence was such a refreshing book to read.
