![]() ![]() The Subjection of Women was released in 1869, a time when, in most of the world, women were considered the legal property-objects, not subjects-of men, specifically their fathers and husbands. “The loss to the world, by refusing to make use of one-half of the whole quantity of talent it possesses, is extremely serious.” In his classic text The Subjection of Women, John Stuart Mill explains why equality is critical for solving the world’s problems-because it allows everyone to decide how they can best contribute to society. Sometimes in the debates about how to improve equality in our society, the reason why we should desire equality gets lost. ![]()

The Foxes are a fractured mess, but their latest disaster might be the miracle theyve always needed to come together as a team. While I still do wish that there was more actual gameplay, I understand that it's hard to write play-by-plays, and that this series isn't really about the game at all, but the players strange and, sometimes confusing, web of lies and relationships. Nora Sakavic presents the second book in the All for the Game series. As Neil learns more about them, so does the reader, but you also learn a lot more about Neil, and maybe he isn't quite the guy you thought he was. None of them are perfect, and they're all messier than before, but that's what makes them so interesting. This is the book where you start to love all those weirdos you met in the first one, and their character types begin to feel more human and real. The Raven King takes everything that was good about The Foxhole Court and heightens it: the stakes are raised, everything is more intense, and the characters are all so much more. I need to stop judging series by their first novel because the second one is always infinitely better. ![]() ![]() At the beginning of the series, he tries to kill himself at the beginning of the new school year on campus. Nick, neither one has any idea what they’re in store for. That hasn’t been in the cards for her, and now that her psychic abilities have started to go into overdrive, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon either. The story follows Riley, a woman who has always wanted to be normal. It’s light, it’s funny, it’s action-packed, and while the romance is a lot tamer than the author’s usual, I was completely invested in the relationship. Riley and Nick are both such great characters that they pulled me into this crazy adventure. Once I wrapped my head around what I was reading, I really started to get into it. And while romance is central to the story, this is very much a psychic mystery/adventure, with (entertaining) chaos throughout. Where the Lost Wander consists of a significant amount of trauma, challenge, endurance, survival, and hardship. Genre: Where the Lost Wander is shelved as a western romance however, I might tweak that and categorize it as a love story. Don’t miss the author’s notes detailing her own family history and the real characters upon which this story is based. but it is also incredibly sad and difficult to read in places. ![]() A page-turner, Where the Lost Wander is filled with historical details and establishes a strong sense of place….
